MIDIT-MIDIS
The week started for the duckies with a lot of fun and excitement. They participated in three activities at a big Halloween party in the whole unit: ghost bowling, pin-a-tail to witchy cat and poke-a-pumpkin game. Everyone was laughing and enjoying each other’s company. After that, the Midis had a nice music session. Tuesday was special with a trip to Annantalo – we saw different exhibitions and experimented with lights and movements in one of the rooms. We also had a walk at a Kamppi mall, used an elevator and talked about the shops around. On Wednesday, we made some special crafts that gave children a chance to express themselves through arts and painting. The Midis had an active P.E. lesson outside on Thursday – with a parachute and a ball. While playing football, they improved their kicking and passing skills as well. At last, on Friday our lovely duckies played with lots of toys, learned to share and tried some new board games together. We are waiting for our Midis on Monday!
MAXIT-MAXIS
Mahtava viikkomme alkoi Halloweenjuhlilla, jossa oli monenlaista ohjelmaa, yhteislaulua, pukujen esittely, erilaisia tehtäviä, keilailua ja disco. Kaikki lapset olivat innoissaan ja tykkäsivät päivän ohjelmasta. Tiistaina oli tuttuun tapaan muskari ja iltapäivällä oli ohjelmassa erilaiset pöytäpelit. Ulkojumpan ”Amazing race”, eli temppurata oli lasten mieleen. Siinä he saivat harjoitella tasapainotaitoja, kropan hallintaa, hyppimistä/pomppimista ja pujottelujuoksua. Iltapäivän neuvottelutaidot ja pienryhmäleikit sujuivat hienosta ja lapset ovat hienosti oppineet sopimaan ryhmän yhteisen leikin. Temppelinaukion puiston retkellä lapset kiipeilivät kovasti ”hämähäkkiverkossa, keinuivat, leikkivät hiekkalaatikolla, ajoivat autoilla jne. Leikkitaulun käytön kaikki lapset ovat oppineet/sisäistäneet hienosti ja leikin valinta sujuu jo erittäin hienosti. Viikko päättyi odotettuun lelu- ja hattupäivään, unohtamatta english clubia ja show & tell. Lapsilla oli hattupäivänä monenlaisia kauniita ja hauskoja hattuja.

From superheroes, scary creatures to fantasy characters and cute animals, our duckies enjoyed the day with stories, special Halloween food decoration, and Disco party. This last was carried out with light effects that set the mood for the celebration. As well, this week, we visited the beautiful Temppeliaukio Church to know more about the architecture and the design of the place. In viskarit, the little ones were introduced to the letter “D”, its sound, and the right formation. However, there is no doubt that we ended the week as we started it…. with lots of fun. Töölö Ankkalampi brought the fun one more time with Töölö Day. Fun Hat Day was a caravan of uniqueness and happy faces.

Rhyming words with the “S” sound were practiced. Most importantly, a conversation about Me and Feelings took place.
