VIIKKOKIRJE – WEEKLY LETTER 38/2021

MIDIT: Maanantaina Midit taiteilivat hienoja syksyisiä taideteoksia syksyn lehdistä. Syksy on niin  ihanaa aikaa! Tiistaina teimme mielikuvitusretken sisällä. Söimme eväitä oikeasti ja leikisti, leikimme retkileikkejä kuten lelun piilotusta ja pikkujänöjä ja lopuksi luimme sadun. Olipa jännä retki! Keskiviikkona musisoimme taas muskarissa. Muskarissa mm. soutelimme ja kalastimme. Olemme myös kuunnelleet sadun piparkakkupojasta lattialla pötkötellen. Torstain retkellä kävimme Maxien kanssa yhdessä harjoittelemassa Tuorinniemen kentällä jalkapallotaitojamme. Harjoittelimme maaliinvetoja, syöttämistä kaverille ja jalkapallon pujottelua tötsien välistä. Perjantaina viikon kruunasi mahtava jalkapalloturnauksemme. Oli hauskaa pelata yhdessä ja saimme yhteensä viisi maalia turnauksessamme. Lapset totesivat, että tärkeintä on osallistuminen ja kiva pelaaminen. Ihana viikko takana! Midit toivottavat hauskaa viikonloppua kaikille!

On the Midi Club Day, we enjoyed reviewing the Shapes and Seasons by watching the familiar videos of the songs together. We were also happily singing and dancing in English in the Mini-Gym and made our own story together about a fox and a cat in the Mini-Movie Time by watching the slides of the story on the disc projected onto the wall by a flashlight.

MAXIT: We enjoyed another special and fantastic week together with the Midis and the Minis at the Day Care and on the trip! On Thursday morning, the Viskaris and the Midis had so much fun on the trip to the playground by the seaside and excitedly experienced our Football training there! Together we carefully warmed our little bodies up by playing the group games “Karhu nukkuu” and “Simon Says” and happily practised in small groups passing a football to the pair, along the zig-zag route and certainly kicking a football into the goal. On Friday morning even though it was raining, we the brave athletes still made the trip to the same playground! This time together with the Preschoolers and the Minis besides enjoying the same group games and practices, we also had much fun singing and dancing with the English songs “If You Are Happy and You Know It!”, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” and “My Happy Song”. Certainly the 3-VS.-3 Mini Football Match was the highlight of the entire Week of Ankka Football Tournament! With the cheering audience of the Minis, we the Maxis and the Midis in turn had at least a try in the match and altogether we scored in total 7 goals on behalf of Team Zebras and Team Cats! Surely active participation, friendly supporting teammates and together having fun are the most important things we bear in mind all the time, and as a bonus winning the match felt also awesome! We shared organic juice and biscuits as the well-deserved rewards for all of us and as a Farewell Party for our beloved Pati! All of us will carefully keep the wonderful memories we have had with Pati at Hranta during the past years in the bottom of our hearts and we wish Pati an amazing future! We miss you already!

Once again the Preschoolers have achieved a lot this week! Concentrating on the teamwork, all of us painted a big French window with autumnal decorations in own free artistic styles! We would very much like to continue filling other plain windows with joyful and beautiful paintings next week and the Viskaris are more than welcome to share this joy with us as well! We were so fond of various sets of colourful 3D paper stages displayed in our classroom, and each of us chose 1 set from the themes “Winter Wonderland”, “Blossoming Cherry Trees” and “Wild West” to complete and take home to play with our families! We also experienced a new game “Lukemisleikki / The Reading Game” consisting of 18 illustrated flash cards of different objects with their names written in Finnish language in Uppercase letters underneath them and the other corresponding 18 flash cards only with the written names on them. Certainly we figured out all the names in Finnish and English and started spelling the names without depending on the illustrations! We also patiently helped the Viskaris getting familiar with the same game in this week’s Viskari Club after reviewing the Shapes and Seasons by watching the videos of the songs together. Worksheets about Symmetry was in the beginning a bit challenging, but they were quite interesting to complete as well! With Titti, we were also into learning Letter Nn as well as practising rhyming, beginning sound of a word and writing.
