MINIS:
Minien viikko alkoi leikkipäivällä. Ulkopuuhien päätteeksi leikimme pienryhmissä autoillen, rakennellen duploilla, sekä palapelejä kasaillen. Uudet Minimme ovat myös päässeet pikkuhiljaa arjen rytmiin kiinni, ja kokeneemmat kaverit ovatkin hienosti olleet huolehtimassa ja opastamassa tulokkaita, sekä kutsumassa mukaan leikkeihin. Tiistaiaamun lumipyry villitsi meidät niin, että lähdimme koko talon voimin ulos leikkimään. Voi miten paljon sitä lunta tuli, ja tuli, ja tuli! Teimme lumiukkoja, aurasimme traktoreilla hienoja kuvioita hankeen, ja hiekkalaatikollakin tehtiin lumesta monenlaisia herkkuja. Sisällä oli jännittävää katsella ikkunasta aura-autojen kolistelua kaduilla ja päiväkodin pihalla. Minejä meinasi huolettaa, riittääkö lunta myös iltapäivän pihaleikkeihin.. Riittihän sitä. Keskiviikkona luimme piirissä monta pientä satukirjaa, jotka kertoivat mm. eläinten seikkailuista, sekä työmaakoneiden tehtävistä. Lisäksi luimme lasten toiveesta lorukirjaa. Keskiviikon musiikkituokiolla kuuntelimme englanninkielistä laulua orkesterista, josta löytyi paljon hienoja ja hauskan kuuloisia soittimia. Musiikin tahdissa soittelimme kehorumpua, ja kokeilimme miten kukin saa suulla, käsillä tai muulla kehonosalla tehtyä erilaisten soittimien ääniä. Melkoinen torviorkesteri meidän Mineistämme sitten paljastuikin, töttöröö! Perjantaina vietimme leikkipäivää nautiskellen ulkoleikeistä yhdessä Midien kanssa.

MIDIT:
The Midis had Own Toy Day on Monday and during Morning Circle all duckies introduced and showed their toys to the group. Each child shared from whom they received that particular toy, what it looked like, what colour it was, etc. Then everyone had the opportunity to practice sharing and taking turns while playing in small groups. Our Star of the Week requested disco so we thought why not start the week by dancing to our favourite songs. Even our Mini, Maxi and Viskari groups joined in the party. On Tuesday, the Midis built a snowman with some Mini friends in our yard. The Midis succeeded to find under the snow 2 twigs for arms, 2 little stones for eyes and one of them even sneaked into our kitchen to check for a carrot. Guess what! She found one so our snowman had a carrot for a nose. Well done Midis! Inside we started the Mother´s Day project and our Star of the Week was a great helper to prepare the salt dough, mixing the ingredients and kneading the dough. On Wednesday, The Midis worked on their social and cooperative skills and played in small groups. They had the task to build a city together from wooden building blocks and Duplo pieces. Great teamwork everyone! Muskari is always one of the favourite activities of our duckies and they enjoyed it again in the afternoon as usual. On Thursday, the Midis practiced some colour mixing by creating beautiful watercolour paintings during arts & crafts session. This week´s Star also liked Paw Patrol so on Friday during Story Time we read ”Pups Save A Baby Octopus” that focused on kindness and teamwork. After nap time, the duckies did a colouring activity in connection with the story and had the opportunity to colour their favourite rescue puppy. Have a lovely weekend duckies! MAXIT JA VISKARIT:
Maxis and Viskari started the week with the toy day. This was the first request from the star of the week. The children brought their favourite toys, played, and practiced sharing skills. On Tuesday, the kids were divided into two groups to play board games: Afrikan Tähti and Choco game. During the games, teamwork and problem-solving skills were encouraged. The next day, Maxis´ group had number tasks. First, they practiced counting in English, then recognizing numbers and writing them in order to come up with a Pokemon picture at the end. Meanwhile, the Viskari group practices the concept of “how many” using numerical exercises. In the afternoon, the group enjoyed their musical activity. On Thursday, the children gathered in a small meeting to decide on that day´s activity. Encouraging the children´s participation contributes to their personal development and autonomy, and also enhances their abilities. At the end, the children made their own obstacle course, working on their gross motor skills. After that, the group wanted to make their own circus. They asked for ambient circus music and did their best tricks. On the last day of the week, we had story time. Star of the week brought a book and his favourite story was Lion king. So we read that and afterwards kids draw a picture. We also listened songs from the movie. Outside kids we playing with the last snow they could find. They all had so much fun!
