MINIS:
The week started for the Minis with free play outside. The children prepared chocolate cakes and muffins in the play area of the sandbox. Right after, they went inside and had to look for a big colorful Easter egg. Once found, they opened it and discovered the small chocolate Easter eggs! What a wonderful surprise! 😊 On Tuesday, the children did arts and crafts. They painted colorful Easter eggs made with coffee filters. The children colored the eggs with watercolours and practiced fine motor skills. Additionally, some of the children colored Easter pictures such as bunnies or chicks. With all these amazing works of art, the children started decorating the window with spring spirit. The next day, the children continued with the spring window decoration, shaping tulips with their handprints, and making butterflies with wet wipes. This last activity was a great success, using colored markers, water spray and colored pipes, they made magnificent and colorful butterflies. In the afternoon, the children enjoyed the weekly Muskari session. On Thursday, the children had a great time with free play. The distribution of the play areas has been modified and adapted according to the needs of the children. Therefore, a new play area has appeared where you can find a fire truck, with different tools, water hoses to put out the fire…among other things. On Monday and Wednesday, the stars of the day assisted in the morning circle by doing some chores and helped the youngest Minis.

MIDIT, MAXIT AND VISKARIT:
On Monday, all duckies went outside in the morning and had fun playing in the sandbox and catching up with friends after the weekend. Then an exciting Easter Egg Hunt brought joy to everyone`s faces. The children went in pairs to look for hidden chocolate eggs and everyone succeeded to find one and ate them straight away. Yummy! What a great start! On Tuesday, the children developed their big motor skills by completing an obstacle course. They practiced balancing, jumping into hula hoops, throwing and catching balls. We had a group Morning Circle led by the Maxi and Viskari Star of the Week, who also asked her friends to show their own toys to the whole group. On Wednesday, the duckies had a walking trip to Spelttipuisto in the morning. They all enjoyed their time in the playground. Some children played pirates on the slide, others showed off their climbing skills on rocks and tree trunks, or took turns on the swings. Back in daycare, the Stars of the Week had their turns to have their interviews read during Morning Circle. In the Midi group we also listened to and danced to the Star´s favourite song, ”Boom Kah”. Nice moves Midis! After nap time, the duckies coloured an Easter bunny and an egg to practice holding a pencil while having fun. Before Vilma`s long-awaited Music Class, we read our Stars` favourite books: ”Pikku hiiren helleksä” and ”Yksisarvinen ja onnentähti”. Great stories, duckies! On Friday, everyone rushed outside to enjoy the beautiful sunshine, the singing of birds and the arrival of spring! Although, we didn`t have much snow anymore, the children managed to be covered in mud while carrying some water to their play kitchen area in the sandbox. They made tasty Easter treats such as chocolate cakes with whipped cream, ”mämmi”, banana soup, etc. Our Viskari Star requested to play ”Hide and Seek” that had turned OUT to be the favourite game of our duckies. Next week`s Star also put it on his list to play with his friends. What a lovely week we had again! Happy Easter duckies! See you on Turtle Tuesday!
