MINIS:
Happy New Year! Minis had a smooth start of the season getting back to their routines after the Christmas break, welcoming new friends in the group, playing with each other and practicing their social skills. Children have been developing their fine motor and problem-solving skills with wooden toys and puzzles, have been riding our new tractor, trucks and bike by practicing sharing and taking turns, and of course had a lot of fun playing with the snow outdoors daily. Minis also have been listening to new stories and practiced new vocabulary and songs during our Morning Circles, focusing on winter, friendship, and feelings. Looking forward to next week when our theme “Trip around the world” starts again and there will be a lot of play and activities for kids to enjoy and practice their skills!

MIDIS:
Midien uusi vuosi on lähtenyt käyntiin leikkien, ahkerasti ulkoillen ja toisiimme tutustuen. Tiistaina teimme retken Etupellon puistoon yhdessä Maxien kanssa. Pääsimme laskemaan pulkkamäkeä, kyyti oli hurjaa ja hauskaa! Aamupiireissä olemme jutustelleet uuden ryhmämme tavoista, rutiineista ja säännöistä, joihin tulemme pikkuhiljaa tutustumaan arjen lähtiessä rullaamaan. Perjantaina aamupiirissä tapasimme lumiukko Olafin, josta innostuneena teimme yhteistyönä lumiukkoaskartelun. Harjoittelimme saksilla leikkaamista; pienestä valkoisesta silpusta kokoamalla liimattiin paperille lumiukko. Midit suunnittelivat, että tulevalla viikolla ukolle täytyy yhdessä tehdä vielä ainakin suu, kädet ja päähine.

MAXIT JA VISKARIT:
Maxis group started the week with free play. The children have slowly come back to their routines and habits. The kids were interacting a lot between each other, talking about the holidays they have spent with their families, and more. On Tuesday, taking advantage of the snow, the children brought their own sledges and went on a trip to Etupelto. There, the group enjoyed sliding down the small snowy hill and had fun. Thursday was Arts and Crafts, the children made fireworks with water paint and straws, developing their fine motor skills and practicing waiting for their turn. On the last day, the group went to the backyard to play. We made snow labyrinth and played tag. Kids were so excited and It was a good start of a season.
