VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
Our week began with visits within our local area. The Whales started their week with a walk around Lauttasaari harbour and delivering the library books back before our summer break begins. The Viskari group visited Lauttasaari Ankkalampi unit where they were planting flowers and getting to know the children from that unit. After many requests from the children, we were able to have another toy day here at the unit. Whilst the children enjoy bringing their toys from home, this is always a good opportunity as we practice language development within the setting. The viskaris were also able to complete another two-part session that day as we went looking for shapes within the environment. On Wednesday the whales walked to the beach to play at casino ranta climbing frame. The viskaris visited the library before heading back for a fashion design session. Thursday rounds our week off with a mid-summer celebration where the children were decorating flower hoops and enjoying some mid-summer dancing!

VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 2 / THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 2:
Delfiinit / Dolphins & Merihevoset / Seahorses
Summer holiday is getting closer and closer, and we are all getting to enjoy the warm weather with lots of outdoor activities. This week has been full of summer related relaxing activities. Dolphins and Seahorses began their week with a free play day with fun indoor and outdoor play times. On Tuesday, the Dolphin children enjoyed doing creative arts and crafts outside. They got to blow water colours on a paper with straws, which was also a good mouth exercise (suu jumppa). They then glued eyes and mouths to their arts creating their own colourful aliens. The Seahorses children took a trip to Casino beach, where they enjoyed spotting new things and were excited to talk about having been to the beach before. On Wednesday, Dolphins took a walking trip where children got to choose which direction to walk to (left, right, straight…) and went to return the rest of the books to the library before going off to summer holidays. The Seahorses enjoyed doing crafts outdoors and painting flowers while enjoying the warm morning. We then ended our week on Thursday with a long-awaited SPA Day. The children enjoyed playing with sugar and coconut oil exfoliating mixture, getting hand massages and getting their nails painted with their choice of colour with a relaxing music playing in the background.
