VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
This week we have now finished our cultural theme, ending it with Iceland and we will be moving more towards outdoor activities as the summer approaches. The children were excited to start the week with making a lava explosion for their group volcano craft. The children were super interested on how the ingredients react together to form the lava. We also had a super fun trip to visit Riikka at her music school with the Dolphins group. We had such a lovely time, singing, playing the drums and xylophones. We have introduced a couple of new Finnish and English Spring Songs to end the week!

This week we will be learning and practising our new Spring Songs throughout the week and also Thursday/Friday we will be filming to make a Spring Video for everyone to watch!

Merihevoset/Seahorse
Seahorses’ week started with a relaxing Monday with a lot of outdoor and indoor plays. In the beginning of the week, it was very exciting to listen to the thunder and spot the lightnings during storm. On Tuesday, we went on a forest trip to a nearby forest Kotkavuori. There we were very excited to explore new places, tiny caves and do some climbing. Our last music school of the season was lots of fun as usual. We also practiced listening at our reading session and learned about space and sea. We ended our week with some fun arts and crafts, practicing motor skills, active PE games and book reading.
Delfiinit/Dolphins
During this week we have enjoyed a lot of outdoor play! Despite the recent weather it’s been nice for the children to splash around outside. We have also been practicing our summer party song and creating costumes in preparation. We can see that the children enjoy singing this song as each time goes on. We are sure about their excitement to create a video for their families at home!
We have also been talking about the different countries we have visited throughout this year and the dolphins voiced their opinions as to which was their favourite. Reviewing this has shown just how important and fun this year’s theme as been!
A highlight for this week was the dolphins visit to the music school in Vattuniemi. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to visit too many places during this year, so it was nice to experience a music concert elsewhere! We rounded our eventful week off with outdoor play at the park and completing the final touches for our costumes, all ready for next weeks recording!
