MINIS:
During this week, Minis spent plenty of time outdoors, welcoming the signs of spring and noticing the changes in nature and weather. On Monday, the group went on a small walking trip to the nearby neighborhood and observed the melting snow, the birds singing, the water puddles and the warmer weather. After their walk, kids got to play in small groups, developing their imagination and social skills playing different role play games of their own choice. On Tuesday, the group expressed their creative skills and practiced their sensory and fine motor skills by crafting colorful easter eggs and painting a big baby chick using their palms and fingertips. Children’s easter creations are now decorating one of our windows! On Wednesday, Minis and Midis walked together to siirtolapuutarha where the kids went on a small hill and started rolling down as if they were easter eggs, practiced their balance trying to walk on melting snow and enjoyed playing their own imagination games using snow, branches and cones. On Thursday, Minis and Midis walked to Spelttipuisto together and with their binoculars they searched for signs of spring, such as birds, flowers, pussy willow brunches, bunnies, and squirrels. On Friday, the group practiced their music and rhythm skills by singing songs about easter and spring, playing maracas, xylophone, and hand bells. Minis had a smooth and fun Easter-themed week and looking forward for the next one where we will focus on spring and nature!

MIDIT:
Tällä viikolla olemme iloinneet kevään saapumisesta ja ulkoilleet paljon. Parasta onkin, kun pihalla saa nauttia samaan aikaan auringonpaisteesta ja sulaneiden lumien muodostamista lätäköistä! Maanantain satutuokiolla luimme tarinan ystävyksistä, jotka lähtivät etsimään rikkauksia sateenkaaren päästä. Matkalla he oivalsivat, etteivät kalleimmat aarteet välttämättä olekaan kultaa ja timantteja tai edes tavaraa, vaan jotain sellaista, mikä on arvokasta ja ihanaa juuri itselle. Tämä synnytti hauskan keskustelun Midien omista aarteista; pehmolelu voi olla rakas aarre, kuten myös hieno kivi, tai perheen auto! Myös isät, äidit ja isovanhemmat mainittiin aarteina, kavereita unohtamatta. Tiistaina valmistimme taikataikinaa. Lapset mittasivat ainekset kulhoon, ja valmiista taikinasta leivottiin pääsiäismunakoristeita. Munan pinnalle paineltiin kuvioita tikulla, haarukalla, tussin päällä ja taikinarullalla. Keskiviikkona teimme retken Pakilan siirtolapuutarhaan, jossa kiipesimme korkealle kukkulalle katselemaan maisemia ja tutkimaan lumen alta heräilevää luontoa. Oli hauskaa kieriä mäkeä alas, ja mäen juurella tehtiin myös kenties talven viimeiset lumienkelit. Retkeily jatkui myös seuraavana päivänä, kun suuntasimme kävelyretkelle ja Spelttipuistoon leikkihetkelle. Otimme mukaan itsetehdyt kiikarit, sekä kuvakartan johon lapset keksivät bongattavaksi kevään merkkejä: linnunlaulu, kukkia, lumiaura/hiekoitusauto, auringonpaiste, koirankakka, pajunkissat jne. Monta rastia saimmekin täytettyä ja lapset havainnoivat sekä keskustelivat ahkerasti mitä ympäristössä näkyi ja kuului. Viikko päättyi english clubiin, jonka teemana oli pääsiäinen. Opimme uusia lauluja ja pääsiäissanastoa, ja etsimme pääsiäismunia, jännää!

MAXIT AND VISKARIT:
Maxis and Viskarit started the week with the Easter Games. For this activity, the kids used small plastic eggs within different abilities contexts. They needed to work as a team, control their balance skills and gross motor skills while controlling the small egg. On Tuesday, the kids crafted Easter cards and eggs with a small chicken inside. During the activity, the kids were practicing following the instructions, scissors skills and fine motor skills while having fun together and talking to each other. Besides, in the afternoon, they could develop their musical skills in Muskari. On the next day, the groups went to a play park, where they enjoyed the environment and worked on their imagination and social skills by playing their own role game. Apart from this, the kids wanted to run on top of one small hill to be able to slide down. On Thursday, Maxis and Viskarit crafted their own small Easter eggs, to then hide it. The best part of the activity came when the eggs became chocolate Easter eggs! Each kid had to find the small chocolate eggs and then (of course) eat it! On the last day of the week, the kids enjoyed a story day in small groups. During the week, the kids continued playing performances inside the circus tent, they used the tablet to practice how to write the numbers and colors in English, and a small group could enjoy Sipi´s Club. It has been a lovely week.
VISKARIT:
Tällä viikolla harjoittelimme numeroiden 1-10 tekemistä. Puhuimme tuokion alussa siitä, että jokainen keskittyy pysymään viivalla, ei hätäillä ja keskitytään tekemään omaa tehtävää. Tämän tehtävän jälkeen teimme tehtävän, jossa piti tehdä numero ennen ja jälkeen tietyn numeron. Jos rekassa oli keskellä numero 6, piti tehdä vasemmalle puolelle numero 5 ja oikealle puolelle numero 6. Tämän jälkeen teimme yhteenlasku tehtäviä. Viskarit nauttivat tehtävistä ja jokainen keskittyi tekemään tehtäviä omassa tahdissaan.
