MINIS:
This week Minis travelled to our last destination for this season’s culture theme and on Monday the group together with Midis, Maxis and Viskarit got on a plane and visited Canada. After the brief orientation about the country’s place on the map, flag, nature, music, traditions and customs, Minis watched an educational video about Canada’s nature and wild animals, but also played an interactive game where they had to listen to different animal sounds and guess what animal it is! On Tuesday, children expressed their creative skills and developed their fine motor and logic skills by crafting super cute beavers, using thick paper and glue. On Wednesday, the group got to practice their social skills and imagination by playing role play games in small age groups, such as home play, kitchen play and car play games. On Thursday, Minis went on a walking trip to the nearby area, observing and counting different vehicles, such as the ambulance, various trucks, small and bigger cars, a horse carriage, but however many noticed that they did not see a police car! On Friday, kids got to treat themselves with a toddler spa, where they practiced relaxing their body and mind, breathing deeply, getting a massage, and having a smooth transition to their lunch and nap time. The culture theme for this season has come to an end and Minis are getting ready to start their own weekly themes, according to their skills and interests! It has been another smooth and lovely week and looking forward for the next one to come!

MIDIT:
Matka maailman ympäri saatiin päätökseen tällä viikolla, ja viimeisenä matkakohteenamme oli Kanada. Orientaatiossa opimme maan kulttuurista; mm. urheilusta, ruuasta, musiikista sekä eläimistä. Uppouduimme urheiluun ja pääsimmekin tutkimaan kiekkoja, kypärää, lätkähanskoja, sekä mailaa. Raivasimme yhdessä pelikentän lattialle, ja Midit innostuivat vuorotellen kokeilemaan kiekon liikuttelua mailalla. Vuoroaan odottavat istuivat yleisössä taputtamassa ja keksivät ihania kannustus- ja tsemppihuutoja. Kanadan liput teimme värityskuvina. Harjoittelimme keskittymistä annettuun tehtävään ja jokainen väritti taitotasonsa mukaan lipun oikeita alueita viivojen sisältä. Askartelimme myös puulusikoista pienet jääkiekkomailat, joilla pelasimme jäädytetyllä minikentällä. Monta kiekkoa saatiin legomaaliin ennen kuin kentät sulivat. Keskiviikkona vietimme leikkipäivää ja jumppasimme Maxien sekä Viskareiden kanssa sirkusteemalla Gymin verkkojumpan parissa. Sirkuspelleinä teimme mm. erilaisia tasapainoa sekä kehon hahmotusta ja -hallintaa harjoittavia liikkeitä. Torstaina kävimme kävelyretkellä, jonka jälkeen pääsimme musiikkituokiolla soittelemaan marakasseja, djembeä sekä quiroa. Perjantain english club-tuokiolla kuulimme sadut dinosauruksista sekä vuodenajoista ja keväästä. Satujen lomassa päästiin oppimaan väri-, eläin- ja kevätsanastoa englanniksi.

MAXIT AND VISKARIT:
This week, for Maxis and Viskarit, started by getting on a plane and travelling to Canada, and getting to know the culture, animals, food, and more. Referring to the flag, the kids were divided in three groups, where they could work competitively. They were taking turns to color the sides and the middle parts of the flag with their hands. On the next day, Maxis and Viskarit went on a forest trip. On it, they brought a small snack with them and interacted with the nature and different environments. There, they played hide and seek, pretending to be fox and rabbits. Wednesday was play and gymnastics circus day. The kids had the opportunity to practice their gross motor skills while following instructions and performing some acrobatics. On Thursday, together with Midis, the groups went on a spontaneous walking trip by the neighbourhood. Later, they enjoyed a musical activity, singing English and Finnish songs while playing some instruments like maracas, drums, and more. On the last day of the week, they played ice hockey with pompoms. It was a good activity on work team, practicing waiting their turn and following instructions. Is a simple activity for the kids and this means it is fun and exciting. It has been a great week.
