VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
We began our week with a children’s meeting. Here we sat down together and evaluated our theme from previous weeks, parks! we talked about some of our favourite moments during travelling and then the best parks. We later moved on to talk about our new theme and what we would like to gain from these experiences. The children are excited for the forest theme and have submitted their activity request for these upcoming weeks. As ever, we appreciate any suggestions relating to forest activities/places from you parents. With this week being autumn holidays, there was a break from music school and the viskaris used this opportunity to refresh our books relating them to the forest theme. Eskaris continued with a Finnish language book day! This weeks highlight was a trip to Lajalahti nature walk. This was a great way to enter our forest theme as we held some good conversations about local nature. Thursdays activity was held inside as Viskaris continued with their works sheets and Friday rounds off this week with a haloween art and craft session!

VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 2 / THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 2:
Delfiinit / Dolphins:
We began our week with a play day, where we enjoyed playing a variety of indoor and outdoor games. On Tuesday, we practiced our fine motor skills while learning about different colours that rainbows have by colouring one ourselves. On Wednesday, we took a trip with Seahorses to Lauttasaari unit. There we got to help in autumn cleaning, rake leaves, hide in the tree house, play with new toys as well as listened to music in their back yard. Walking in the forest through muddy paths to get to the other unit was a lot of fun! On Thursday, we created an obstacle course indoors where we got to practice jumping, throwing balls, climbing on different surfaces, etc… We then ended our week with our own toy day. We also practiced doing a number task including different shapes and learning to count different items on the paper.
Merihevoset / Seahorses:
Viikko alkoi kavereiden kanssa leikkien niin autoleikissä, junaradalla kuin kotileikissä nukkeja hoitamalla. Tiistaina Merihevoset pääsivät vauhtiin jumpparadalla, jossa harjoiteltiin tasapainoilua, kiipeämistä sekä pallon heittoa ja potkaisua. Keskiviikkona teimme talon yhteisen retken Lauttasaaren yksikölle. Vastassa oli Kati, joka aiheutti ihania hurraa huutoja. Lapset touhusivat innoissaan uudessa ympäristössä leikkien sekä osa intoutui auttamaan siivoamaan pihaa lehdistä. Torstaina askartelupäivänä maalasimme sekä leikimme pöytäleikkejä mm. nappuloita, plus-plus-palikoita sekä palapelejä tehden. Perjantaina leikimme omilla leluilla ja ulkoilimme pitkään. Tällä viikolla aamupiireillä olemme mm. opetelleet uutta Kiukun kesytys -laulua, joka on ollut hitti lasten keskuudessa.
