MINIT
Minien alkuviikko piti sisällään paljon ulkoilua ja lähiympäristön havainnoimista. Maanantaina teimme kävelyretken päiväkodin lähistöllä sijaitsevaan satamaan. Yhdessä Midien ja Maxien kanssa bongasimme monenlaisia laivoja ja veneitä sekä vedessä kelluvan meduusan… siinä kyllä riitti ihmettelemistä! Tiistaina tutkimusmatkamme jatkui, ja silloin vuorossa oli liikenteen havainnoimista. Näimmekin monen monta bussia (meidän ehdoton suosikkimme!) sekä ohi huristelevia autoja ja suuren suuria rekkoja. Matkan varrella pääsimme myös ihmettelemään liikennevalojen värien vaihtumista, ja pyrimme tunnistamaan, että mitä värejä ne valot oikein onkaan! Keskiviikkona touhusimme aamulla kuraleikkien äärellä ja sisälle saavuttuamme pistimme pystyyn pizzerian, jonka toteutimme hävikkiruokaa hyödyntäen. Meillä oli jäänyt alkuviikosta paljon leivänpäällisiä, joita saimme hyvin hyödynnettyä leipomisissamme – mitään ei lentänyt roskiin, ja pienet leipurit olivat hyvin iloisia omista maukkaista tuotoksistaan! Torstaina toivotimme taas Miljan tervetulleeksi Herttoniemenrantaan. Sammakkolaulut vaihtuivat syksyisiin lauluihin, ja saimmepa myös tavata uuden ystävämme Etana-Ellin. Lauloimme syksyn lehdistä, sateista ja sienistä sekä soitimme rumpuja ja marakasseja eri variaatioilla. Minit tykkäsivät erityisesti, kun heittelimme värikkäitä huiveja ilmaan ja yritimme napata niitä kiinni pienillä sormilla. Välillä kurkisteltiin huivin takaa ja huudettiin tietysti kovaan ääneen ”kukkuu!”. Perjantaina vietimme leikkipäivää vapaan leikin ja omien lelujen parissa. Leikkien lomassa Minit innostuivat myös rakentamaan jumpparadan, jossa tehtiin vaikka mitä upeita temppuja ja liikkeitä, wau! Nyt on aika lähteä viikonlopun viettoon – ensi viikolla touhutaan taas yhdessä!

We had another busy week full of indoor and outdoor activities here at the day care despite the rainy weather. Unfortunately the week didn’t go ahead as planned as Nelli was off sick at the beginning of the week. Therefore, the Maxis couldn’t visit the Hertsi shopping centre for the survey, however, we did have a walking trip around the sea shore with the Minis and we had some good luck as we saw a school of jellyfish in the water. The children were very excited as some of them hadn’t seen them before. On Tuesday the viskari children had their fortnightly meeting with the Kulosaari viskari children. It was our turn to visit kulosaari this week where we played games in the yard related to letters in their names. The children were very excited to see each other this time and we hope their enthusiasm continues with this new arrangement. Meanwhile the midis stayed at the day care where they played some memory games and dominoes. The children followed the rules well and were very focused throughout the activities. This week is also the official ‘waste week’ and across all the Ankkalampis. We will discuss with the children what we can do to throw less food away. Here in our unit we will explain that sometimes we have some meat slices, salad vegetables and cheese left over. During Wednesday morning we prepared some pizza slices using the ingredients we had too much of. The children picked their own toppings and later in the day the children got to eat their pizza slice for the snack. The children were extremely happy with their delicious snack and we agreed that we could do this again in the future. Thursday morning was the music session. The children are now becoming very familiar with beat and rhythm using drums with the music. They are also continuing to express their moods and feelings through dance whilst listening to music. The week ended with the toy week and the extended circle time. During this time we particularly focus on the English language and encourage the children to use some English vocabulary. They will use English adjectives to describe the shape, size and colour of their toys. We will begin next week with the walking trip to Hertsi shopping centre where we will conduct a shops and services survey with the children. We hope you all have a nice and relaxing weekend.
