MIDIT-MIDIS
Midien kesäinen viikko alkoi retkellä Minervan Puistoon, jossa Midit pääsivät leikkimään autoilla, majoissa sekä hiekkalaatikolla. Iltapäivällä oli vuorostaan English Club, jossa maisteltiin mustikoita, kukkakaalia ja porkkanoita. Samalla lapset miettivät oliko ruoka makeaa vai hapanta. Tiistaina oli ratikkaretki Talvipuutarhaan, jossa näimme monia erilaisia kasveja, kukkia ja jopa kaloja! Lapset pitivät kovin ratikkaretkestä, ja parhainta olikin kaikki näkymät mitä istuessaan näki ikkunasta. Talvipuutarhan kalat olivat myös hitti. Keskiviikkona leikittiin vesileikkejä sisällä. Jokainen lapsi sai oman pienen laatikon, joka täytettiin vedellä. Lapsilla oli myös pillit, pipetit, plus-plus paloja sekä pieniä raksuja. Pilleillä puhallettiin fairyn avulla kuplia, pipeteillä Midit saivat kokeilla laittaa vettä kuppiin ja katsoimme miten raksut sekä plus-plus palat kelluvat vedessä. Vesileikin aikana kuuluikin paljon naurua, joka kertoi hyvin, kuinka lapset pitivät kyseisestä toiminnasta. Torstaina olikin pitkään odotetun kevätjuhlan aika. Midi-ankat lauloivatkin ihanasti Pikkuiset Kultakalat ja Baby Shark – laulut! Viikko huipentui perjantaina lelupäivään. Meillä oli tuttuun tapaan lelupiiri, jossa jokainen lapsi sai kertoa hieman omasta lelustaan ja näyttää sen kaikille kavereille. Ensi viikolla näemme taas!
MAXIT-MAXIS
We, at Maxis, had a great time learning and having fun together once again. In arts and crafts, the children made their own recipes to cook their favorite meals using recycled materials as ingredients. During the activity, we learned the names of basic ingredients, fruits, and vegetables in English. This was reinforced in English club, in which a short video of various fruits and vegetables were used in a guessing game and discussion. In Nervanderin Park, we introduced the basics of track and fields during our physical education. To warm up and set the energy in motion, we played dodgeball as a starter. Then, we focused on correct running technique with and without obstacles and ended the activity by simple stretching and a short review. Another exciting event was the nature walk in Töölönlahti. With magnifying glasses, we searched for and observed some small insects and paid attention to objects, trees, and flowers in the area. Also, the spring party being the highlight of the week, our duckies did their best to learn the songs during rehearsals, know their positions in the venue, and develop confidence to perform in front of a big crowd. Great job everyone!
VISKARIT & MESTARIT
It was a fantastic way to mark the end of a successful year! This week was filled with surprises, enjoyment, and a sense of community. To celebrate one of our spring songs the little ones relished playing and exploring the great outdoors. In fact, football has become a favorite activity in recent weeks. However, what made this week truly special was the time we spent together as a united group of Viskari and Mestari. We were lucky to have good weather, which allowed us to enjoy a picnic with music and spontaneous connections. The visit to Helsinki Zoo was one of the most memorable events of the year. Although some animals were too shy and stayed hidden, the children had the pleasure of seeing some adorable, intelligent, and playful creatures. We wrapped up the week with a wonderful celebration. The Spring Party was an emotional moment to commemorate the growth, wellbeing, and learning of our children this year, and especially to honor those who are moving on to a new phase in their life as students in the upcoming academic year. Congratulations, All!
