VIIKKOKIRJE / WEEKLY LETTER 22/ 2021
This week, the Captains have had a very active week! On Monday, we had a gymnastics session where we practiced coordination, strength and motor skills. On Tuesday, we had a dancing class where we jumped and danced to the rhythm of the music, all holding hands together! On Wednesday, we had a morning circle in English where we reviewed the colors of the rainbow with a wonderful and amazing song. On Thursday, we had the super Olympics! We went with the Skippers to the Liisanpuistikko park and we challenged ourselves to do different sports, enjoying our Captain’s team spirit! On Friday, how could it be otherwise, we finished with our famous open mic singing our popular favorite playlist! Amazing beginning summer week!
Kipparit ovat nauttineet koko viikon helteisistä säistä. Ulkoleikit ovat olleet monipuolisia. Hiekkalaatikolle on ilmestynyt mm. jäätelökioskeja, leipomoita sekä työmaita. Maanantain retki jäi lyhyeksi, kun huomasimme että oli jo liian kuuma auringossa kävelyyn. Pidimme juomatauon ihastellen Ritaripuistikon suihkulähdettä ja ihmetellen lähellä olevan työmaan ääniä. Kipparit ovat kiinnostuneet lääkärileikeistä ja viikon mittaan olemmekin sisällä ja ulkona lukeneet yhdessä lääkärikirjaa. Lukuhetkillä on myös saanut kertoa omia kokemuksia ja kysellä kysymyksiä samalla viittaamista ja oman vuoron odottamista harjoitellen. Lääkärikirjan yhteydessä opettelimme ja kertasimme kehonosien nimeämistä sekä uimapuku -sääntöä ja lasten turvataitoja. Keskiviikkona Kipparit pääsivät maalaamaan puistossa vesiväreillä ja lopputuloksena syntyi kauniita sateenkaaria, tulivuoria, ninjoja sekä aurinkoja. Torstaina suuntasimme Liisanpuistikkoon Ankka Olympialaisiin. Lajeina oli juoksu, pujottelu sekä hernepussin heitto. Tärkeässä roolissa oli myös kaverin kannustaminen sekä yhdessä tekeminen. Kisojen päätteeksi jokainen lapsi palkittiin kultamitalilla sekä yksilöllisillä kehuilla päivän onnistumisista. Viikon päätimme leppoisaan lukuhetkeen puistossa ja tietysti Open Miciin!
The courageous, friendly and competitive Sailors travelled back through time from the exciting Age of Discovery after completing the ultimate circumnavigation of the Globe like Magellan’s crew about 500 years ago with full respect for the contemporary marine explorers who challenged and improved sciences, technologies, navigation, engineering, views of the world, communication and trading among different peoples native to different continents, industrialisation and globalisation of the entire human society in their pioneering and courageous endeavours to the unknown! Keeping the explorers’ devotion and bravery in mind and back to the 21st-century Germany, we fell in love right away with the breathtaking sceneries of Rhine River and Bavarian Forests, magnificent buildings like the Brandenburg Gate and the Museum Island in Berlin, Cologne Cathedral, Hohenzollern Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle based on which Disney built their famous castle, attractive and long traditions and culture like the Christmas Market, interesting fairytales like the Town Musicians of Bremen, delicious cuisine like pretzels, sausages and the very first modern hamburger invented in the history, the fish hamburger in Hamburg. Certainly we didn’t forget the amazing National Football Team of Germany! Besides Bach and Beethoven with whom we are familiar, we appreciated major works of German composers of Classical Music in the Romantic Era Schumann, Mendelssohn and Brahms. Each of us crafted own 3D paper German breed dogs like German Shepard Dog, Dobermann and Miniature Schnauzer. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunny and summery weather everyday outside as well by playing group games like “Cat and Mouse” and Dodgeball inspired by the Weekly Theme, enjoying the long trip to Tervassari and having so much fun in the Duckie Summer Olympic Games at which we enjoyed playing together in the games that we chose by ourselves like spinning Hula Hoops, skipping ropes, jumping in sacks, folding and tossing paper airplanes, passing a beach ball etc. Surely all of us were No.1 as what is shown on our shiny gold medals! Next week, we will decide what we would love to do outdoors and indoors together everyday. As we wished, we will travel to the biggest country of the whole world Russia to appreciate its unique and enchanting culture and traditions, ballet and music, landscapes and architecture etc.
