MINIS: The week for Minis started with a color activity and children got to identify and collect yellow items from a container full of different colored small objects and materials. Then they had to count and glue the yellow items on a paper with a big yellow sun! Kids got to practice recognizing colors, sorting, counting and develop their fine motor skills by dipping the items in the glue and placing them on the paper sun. On Tuesday, Minis went on a walking trip to Klaukkalanpuisto, where they enjoyed playing, swinging, climbing, running and sliding in the sunny weather. The group also got to practice their social skills and independence by playing games with children from Midis, Maxis and Viskarit groups. On Wednesday, the group got to make another “science” experiment, using permanent and washable markers, towel paper and water. Children practiced identifying colors, coloring with different markers, making shapes and then observed what happened when they placed the paper towels on the water surface. The drawings with the permanent marker got sharper in color and stayed as it is but the washable marker colors expanded and colored the water, creating new colors patterns. After removing the towels from the water and drying the towels, the result was a colorful piece of art! On Friday, the group enjoyed free play, spending a lot of time outdoors and enjoying the warm spring weather, playing role play games, and developing their social skills and imagination. It has been a sunny and wonderful week, looking forward to what the next one will bring!

Tällä viikolla lämpö ja aurinko on hellinyt meitä toden teolla, ja olemmekin yhteistuumin todenneet, että kauan odotettu kesä on nyt vihdoin täällä! Midit ovat viettäneet paljon aikaa pihaleikkien parissa. Auringonpaisteessa on ollut kiva käydä köllöttelemässä, vedellä olemme maalanneet aitoja ja asfalttia, ja välillä viilennytty varjossa jäätelökioskileikissä. Maanantain musiikkituokiolla kokeilimme erilaisia instrumentteja. Opettelimme soittimien nimiä; triangeli, marakassi, rytmikapulat, quiro, djembe jne., ja leikimme orkesterileikkiä sekä soolo-piiriä. Soittelimme aikuisen mallia ja käsimerkkejä tarkkaillen kovaa ja hiljaa, sekä nopeasti ja hitaasti. Lapset keksivät hauskasti myös ”oikeaoppisesta” poikkeavia tapoja soittaa kutakin soitinta. Lopuksi opettelimme uuden kesäisen muumilaulun, jonka tahdissa on tanssittu pitkin viikkoa. Tiistaina käytiin koko talon voimin Klaukkalanpuistossa leikkimässä. Midien mielipuuhaa oli juosta, laskea mäkeä ja kiipeillä puihin sekä kiipeilytelineeseen tähyilemään maisemia. Keskiviikkona viihdyimme pihalla koko aamupäivän. Leikkien päätteeksi keräännyimme pöytien luo kuuntelemaan kesämusiikkia ja maalaamaan vesiväreillä. Pienet kärpäset pörräsivät värien ympärillä, ja niitä oli kiinnostavaa tarkkailla. Jokainen sai maalata kesäisen värityskuvan, ja lopuksi teimme yhteisen teoksen isolle paperille. Rytmit veivät mukanaan ja lapset tanssivat samalla kun maalasivat. Se sai ohikulkijatkin pysähtymään hymyillen ihailemaan tuokiotamme. Perjantaina vietimme rentoa leikkipäivää helatorstain touhuista ja viikonloppusuunnitelmista jutustellen.

MAXIS & VISKARIT:
Maxis and Viskarit started the week by doing an obstacle circuit. The kids wanted to prepare their own obstacle circuit. During the circuit, they could practice balance skills walking on top of a rope, shake their body with hula hop, control their gross motor skills jumping and do some squats, and more. On Tuesday, the whole unit went to Klaukkalanpuiston. There, the kids could develop their social skills while playing in a different environment. Apart from this, the new environment forces the kids to work on their imagination to have fun together in small groups. They also played role games, which they really enjoy. Some kids, wanted to play group games like Banaani Hippa or Hide and Seek. During the next day, Maxis group had robot activities. Using some robot drawings, they had to recognize and identify the colors, the body parts and shapes in English while having fun. In the other hand, Viskarit went to Spelttipuisto. There, the kids shaped letters from the alphabet using sticks, found different nature objects, and more. To end the activity, the kids built a heart with nature things. On the last day of the week, the kids decided what to play during the whole day. They choose free play in the play board, play the floor is lava and participated in Sipi’s club. It has been a lovely week!
VISKARIT:
Suomen lasten metsäretkipäivänä keskiviikkona Viskarit tekivät retken Spelttipuistoon ja siinä olevaan pieneen metsikköön. Lapsille annettiin tehtäviä, kuten etsi nyrkkisi kokoinen kivi, etsi pikkusormen kokoinen kivi, etsi viisi erilaista luonnon esinettä. Teimme lopuksi näistä kaikista sydämen metsään: #metsäsydänhaaste. Viskarit nauttivat erilaisista tehtävistä ja haasteista. Jokainen teki hyvin itsenäistä työtä, mutta auttoi myös kaveria tarvittaessa. Tehtävien jälkeen nautimme vähän naksuja ja vettä. Viskarien leikkejä oli ilo seurata, kuului naurua ja ilon kiljahduksia. Kaikki leikkivät hyvässä sovussa keskenään.
