VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
We held an important fire escape practise this week at the daycare. The children managed this extremely well and quickly exited the building as instructed, utilising their previous learning. This week has been lovely, warm and sunny, therefore we have taken the chances to play long outdoors. We have also been finishing our Alaska play house craft which is nearly ready for use! We are moving onto Canada next week and also into the spring events!

Merihevoset/Seahorses
Viikko käynnistyi jumppahetkellä omalla pihalla pienissä ryhmissä, auringosta nauttien. Harjoittelimme pujottelua sekä esteen yli hyppäämistä. Tiistaina lähdimme retkelle kasinonrantaan nauttimaan ihanasta aurinkoisesta ilmasta. Rannalla merihevoset innostuivat juoksentelemaan sekä bongaamaan hanhia ja lentokoneita. Pääsimme myös löhöilemään aurinkotuoleihin sekä pidimme pienen lauluhetken. Keskiviikkona oli odotettu muskaripäivä ja iltapäivällä lähdimme aikaisin puistoon ulkoilemaan ja nauttimaan ihanasta ilmasta. Loppuviikosta valmistelimme vappuhattuja sekä harjoittelimme kaverin kanssa leikkitaitoja.
Delfiinit/Dolphins
This week we have visited Canada as part of our culture theme. Immediately after this introduction the children noted that there are similarities between the Canada and their native landscapes. They explained that they have the same trees and were also then keen to find other similarities. We also practiced our fire safety where both groups understood and followed instructions well. Their interest in the situation was well noticed and listened very well! On Tuesday we began our Canadian moose craft where we tested the drawing around subjects, cutting and sticking shapes all within the same session. We would then revisit this activity later in the week to paint, decorate and complete their project. Throughout this year the dolphins have often been keen to finish their projects immediately so they can show their parents at the end of that day. We have noted how they have now become more patient and willing to wait between stages to complete their work to a good standard… a project mentality! This has been a wonderful development! Along with music school as normal, we then later finished our week with some NHL drills inside. Here the children were using their hockey sticks to guide the balls through cones as we tested agility and coordination. Some shooting practice to complete the session!
