VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
This week the children have been super excited to plan, film and edit their own film for USA week. We took the Hollywood theme from USA and the children planned in three small mixed groups separate stories and filmed these stories using toys or drawings to make the stories come to life! Then the whales group helped to edit the film, adding music and effects. The three stories were made into one film which ”premiered” at the end of the week with the children attending with a celebrity dress up to the premiere. The children enjoyed seeing their own stories come to life and also enjoyed some USA related food (hotdogs and marshmallows!). Children also made their own ”Walk of Fame” stars to decorate the classroom. Next week, we move on from USA to Alaska!

Merihevoset/Seahorses
After a refreshing and relaxing easter holiday, the seahorses started their week with arts and craft by crafting colourful tulip fields using our fingers and forks. The seahorses have also been liking our relaxing reading and learning sessions. On Wednesday, the seahorses enjoyed playing outdoors in the park and listening to music and dancing, while also learning about our body parts. As it was such an amazing weather this week, we went on a long trip to the forest on Thursday and enjoyed being outside in the sun, which was the highlight of our week. Dressing up, wearing cowboy hats, listening to country music and eating hot-dogs was so much fun! The seahorses have been enjoying being outdoors and running around in the park in the amazing sunny weather this week. 😊
Delfiinit/Dolphins
This week we have visited the USA. A country in which the Dolphins already had a lot of knowledge. The week began with a theme introduction and the children offered their experiences of visiting America along with the facts they already knew. After watching a video about the statue of liberty we had learnt about the location, actual height and the reason for the colour, helping to answer some challenging questions! During this week we also made “statue of liberty” headbands where we practiced cutting and colour mixing to create the final product. Another highlight of the week was having hotdogs for snack on Thursday, a really appreciated treat! With a cowboy theme we made sheriffs badges in the morning, dressed as cowboys/girls, made and ate hotdogs and then finally enjoyed a game of “pin the tale” for the horse. All with country music! Our week is rounded off with some NFL drills to practice agility and coordination in that American style.
