MINIS:
This week’s theme for Minis group has been” Robots and Space” and on Monday the kids crafted a big robot outfit, using a carton box, silver silk paper and different recycling material that they used for decorating the outfit. All Minis got the chance to try on the outfit, looking and walking like cute little robots. On Tuesday, the group enjoyed free role play in small groups, developing their imagination and social skills with home and kitchen play games, tools and repairing games, but also pirate ship play! On Wednesday, Minis practiced their aiming and gross motor skills with throwing different size “asteroids” into “space”, using their problem solving and sorting skills to fit the various sizes balls into the right holes. On Thursday, Minis and Midis went together on a walking trip and visited a small hill where the kids got to climb on the top and slide or roll down, having a lot of fun and enjoying the fresh air. We also had the chance to “grill sausages” on the “campfire”, but children also tasted a small muumin cookie snack as well. On Friday, Minis practiced their music, rhythm and singing skills by singing and playing different songs using musical instruments, such as the xylophone, maracas, and hand bells. During this week Minis have been introduced to vocabulary about space and robots, they sung the “Robot Says” and “Robotti-Rock” song, listened to the story about “The Robot Dog” but also practiced the poem “Blast off”. It has been a great week and looking forward for the next one!

MIDIT:
Tällä viikolla Midit ottivat ensimmäisen askeleen kohti lähestyvää pääsiäistä askartelemalla omat rairuohopurkit tyhjistä maitotölkeistä. Purkit maalattiin, ja jokainen sai leikata valitsemasta hahmostaan riippuen sopivat korvat, nokan, sekä viikset. Osat liimattiin paikoilleen ja lopputuloksena saimme todella suloisia pupuja, tipuja ja kissoja. Tiistaina pääsimme vauhdikkaiden lumileikkien jälkeen rentoutumaan spa-tuokiolla. Nautimme kurkkunaamioista, rauhoittavasta musiikista, jalkakylvyistä, sekä hieronnasta. Jännittävintä ja hauskinta oli varmasti kynsien lakkaus, ja jokainen valitsikin tarkasti harkiten mieluisat värit itselleen. Hemmotteluhetken aikana jutustelimme aisteista ja lapset tekivätkin hienosti havaintoja; kurkkunaamio tuntuu kylmältä ja maistuu hyvältä, vesi tuntuu lämpimältä ja jalkahieronta kutittavalta, musiikki kuulostaa ihanalta, kynsilakka haisee ”väkevälle”, jne. Keskiviikkona vietimme leikkipäivää ulkoillen ja uudessa sirkusteltassa leikkien. Torstaina lähdimme Minien kanssa retkelle läheiseen metsikköön, josta löytyi sopiva rinne pyllymäkeä ja kierimistä varten. Retkellä nälkä yllätti, joten lapset etsivät kasan keppejä nuotio- ja makkaranpaistoleikkiin. Onneksi saimme myös herkutella eväskekseillä, ja jaksoimme kävellä aktiivisen retkihetken päätteeksi vielä takaisin päiväkodille. Midien viikko päättyi jo tuttuun tapaan english clubin parissa. Innolla odotamme ensi viikkoa, jolloin sirkus saapuu Pakilaan!

MAXIT AND VISKARIT:
Maxis and Viskarit started the week by doing some exercise. The kids had the opportunity to practice different movements, balancing skills, waiting for their turn, listening skills and more while doing gymnastics and yoga. On the next day, the group went on a small trip close to Spelttipuisto, where there is a small hill. There, the kids had so much fun sliding down the hill. In the afternoon, and after the adrenaline dose of the morning, they could develop their musical skills in Muskari. Besides, Viskarit started the Spring window decoration. Everybody enjoy the decoration activities, which also allow them to practice scissor skills by cutting different types of paper and to craft a colorful spring flower. On Wednesday, the kids had the great opportunity to know a bit about the new secret club. This club belongs to a little fox called Sipi, who has a suitcase full of activities, games, songs, poems and much more. For now, they will have to wait a bit longer to know more about the Club. The kids are very excited about the Club and with the presence of Sipi. Apart from this, the kids sang songs in Finnish and English. On Thursday, and as we have done previously, it was Science Day. This time, the experiment consisted in watching a volcano lava reaction. It was amazing and the reaction is quite impressive even for the adults. During the last day of the week, the kids finally enjoyed Heikunkeikunpäivä! The group could play under the table, draw with their feet, walk backwards, listen a story starting from the end, and more. It was a good week!
VISKARIT:
Tällä viikolla keskityimme hienomotorisiin taitoihin, tehtävien läpivientiin, keskittymiskyvyn kasvattamiseen ja oman vuoron odottamiseen. Harjoittelimme myös päivämäärän kirjoittamista. Teimme erilaisia tehtäviä: mikä kuvio tulee seuraavaksi, pisteestä toiseen piirtämistä mallia noudattaen, reitin tekemistä sekä geometristen kuvioiden löytämistä ja laskemista. Mikä kuvio tulee seuraavaksi-tehtävä oli kaikkien mielestä helpoin ja vaikein oli pisteestä toiseen piirtäminen mallia noudattaen. Keskustelimme myös lasten kanssa siitä, tarvitseeko aina olla paras ja nopein kaikessa, saako toiselle nauraa, jos toinen tekee väärin. Isojen asioiden äärellä olimme keskusteluissa ja hyvin lapset osallistuivat keskusteluun.
Viskarit ovat erittäin innoissaan salakerhosta ja Sipi-kaverista. Sipi halutaan nyt leikkeihin ja muuhunkin toimintaan mukaan. Sipille on jo tehty oma Ankka sekä nimi leikkitauluun. 😊 Hienoa huomata, kuinka kaikki haluavat pitää huolta Sipistä, meidän sinisen värisestä ketusta.
