VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
Our week began with photo day as the children had individual and group portraits taken. We spent most of that morning inside where we played in small groups whilst waiting for the photographer to call the next child. We are all excited to see the photos! On Tuesday it was music school day. Always popular, its great to hear the children during the music lessons! On Wednesday we began preparations for our Christmas show by watching a video and then rehearsing the lyrics later that day. On Thursday we decorated some props that we will use for our Christmas show as we began to familiarise ourselves with some traditional Finnish and English Christmas foods. Our week is rounded off with the Christmas porridge day and of course… the famous elf hats!

Merihevoset / Seahorses
Merihevosten viikko aloitettiin yhdessä leikkien. Tiistaina lähdimme käymään kävelyretkellä yhdessä delfiinien kanssa, joka sujui kaikilta hienosti. Keskiviikkona oli muskaripäivä ja muskarissa oli vieraillut tonttu, josta lapset innostuneina kertoivat. Torstaina oli vuorossa jouluaskarteluja ja lapset pääsivät tekemään joulupukkeja sekä maalaamaan lumihiutaleita. Perjantaina juhlimme lapsen syntymäpäivää sekä puurojuhlaa. Söimme lounaan yhden pöydän ääressä tunnelmavalaistuksessa ja joululauluja kuunnellen.
Delfiinit / Dolphins
Dolphins have been enjoying playing in the cold weather and their week has been full of activities. We began our week playing shop play where the children enjoyed going grocery shopping and coming to ‘pay’ to the cash register with play coins. We also looked together at what we could cook with the ingredients they bought. On Tuesday, we did some fun and colourful snowflake arts and craft. Our Wednesday’s music school went well, and the children excitingly talked about the Christmas elf that visited them during the music school. Thursday was our trip day, during which we walked to the library to borrow some new books. We ended our week eating Christmas porridge all together with lights, Christmas hats, and Christmas songs playing in the background, which was the highlight of our week.
