VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 1:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 1:
We started this week with an important activity – the children’s meeting. Here we discussed with the children their ideas and opinions for this years theme: ”Play, Move, Learn Outdoors” starting with the ”Park” as a mini theme. Another highlight of this week was our trip to Meripuisto in Eira and travelling there using both the metro and the tram. The children were very excited to find the correct tram numbers and find our way with around with the adults. We even had a lovely conversation with the ticket inspector!

VIIKON TAPAHTUMAT LAHNALAHTI 2:/ THIS WEEK IN LAHNALAHTI 2:
Delfiinit / Dolphins:
Dolphins have been very active this week. We began the week with outdoor play and with a recycling theme morning. We enjoyed watching a video and singing songs about sorting trash in different coloured bins and playing a recycling game which everyone found very exciting. On Tuesday, we made colourful autumn trees using finger painting. Wednesday’s music school went very nicely and later during the day, children enjoyed talking about the fun songs they had learned. On Thursday, we took a very exciting metro trip to Hakaniemi market, where we spotted trams, busses, flower shops, fruit shops, cafés and so many Metros. The trip went surprisingly well, where everyone walked amazingly and the children enjoyed exploring the new surroundings and waving at the passing busses. On Friday, we ended the week with a toy day and a trip to the nearby forest together with the Seahorses. In honour of Finnish nature day we had our morning circle in the forest together and we talked a little about the different things, plants, animals and birds that we can find in Finnish nature. After this we enjoyed trying to spot a few of these things with binoculars and collecting cones.
Merihevoset / Seahorses:
Seahorses began their week with a nice play day, followed by longer outdoor time the next day. On Wednesday, they had music school, as always, they really enjoyed it. On Thursday, Seahorses had art and crafts and made colourful binoculars with toilet paper rolls, they loved experimenting with colours and painting. On Friday, in honour of the Finnish nature day, we ended the week with a trip to a near forest, among with the Dolphins. We had a morning circle all together and we talked about the different animals and plants that can be found in the Finnish nature. The children really loved being outdoor in the nature, they were all so happy when we saw a squirrel and enjoyed exploring and playing with toy binoculars that they made. Its being a great week…
