Maxien tapahtumat viikolta: Monday was free play day for the Maxis. Most of the children concentrated on modelling with playdough and they made several beautiful shapes from it. Tuesday was also playday and we did craft and cutting out the shape of cats and the craft work was used to decorate the Maxi’s space. We practiced cutting skills by shaping out easter chicks from papers. Wednesday was English day for Maxi group, we started the morning with circle time singing “Good morning to you”, the children can follow now the “Wind the bobbin up” song” and they also practiced “I have ten little fingers rhyme”. We read “Hooray for Fish” by Lucy Cousins. We discussed about friendship, and about our friends being different from each other. Thursday was the Easter music day for the whole day-care. The children enjoyed singing and moving to the music. The gathering ended with the Easter egg hunt.
Midien tapahtumat viikolta: Midi group worked math skills, matching colors red, blue, yellow, green, and orange. They also counted one to five objects using manipulative toys. During circle time, we read “Hooray for Fish” by Lucy Cousins, the story is about friendship, different characteristics, such as stripes, spots, spikes, thin, long, etcetera, (a metaphor to having different kinds of friends). We painted an Easter chick and completed the Easter grass box decorations, hopefully, all the children managed to take these home. We started practicing cutting skills too, although this is a difficult ability, the children seem to find interest in the use for scissors. Lastly, we all had fun singing our Easter songs repertoire together finalized by enjoying the chocolate egg we found during the Easter egg hunt.
Minien tapahtumat viikolta: Harjoittelimme suun motoriikkaa puhaltamalla pillillä yrittäen levittää maalia. Levinneistä maaleista syntyikin hienoja pääsiäistipuja, joille liimasimme höyhenet, silmät ja nokan. Muovailimme muovailuvahalla ja teimme ulkona lumikakkusia ämpäreihin. Lauloimme auringonkukkalaulun ja virvon varvon laulua. Toivottiinpa ruokapiirissä myös possu- ja lehmälauluakin. Leikimme koti- ja autoleikkiä. Kiirastorstaina lauloimme pääsiäislauluja koko talon muskarissa. Lopuksi etsimme pääsiäiskukon piilottamia suklaamunia.
