MIDIT – MAXIT: Happy New Year to all of you from all the staff here at Herttoniemeranta Ankkalampi Duckies!!
What a wonderful start we had to the new year with plenty of snow for us to enjoy. Despite many children still away enjoying a holiday, we had a lovely time here playing and learning as one group. During the week we introduced the theme of the month which is Artic and Polar Animals. We have discussed the various animals that live in these regions starting to become familiar with the English names. The craft activities involved colouring polar and artic animals and then using various colours of felt to stick on the animals to imitate their fur. Later on, in the week the children had to stick various animals on the correct place of an artic landscape. Memory games were also played using polar and artic animals’ pictures and names. We also went sledding nearby the day care and built many snowmen during the week. Pictures of the week will be posted on the face book page.
Once again, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing all the children back with us next week.
